Lotus Communication Network's Dr Kalinga Seneviratne initiated a project with Bangkok's Chulalongkorn University to bring in Buddhist, Hindu and Confucius values and concepts into developing new journalisn training curriculum for ASEAN and SAARC countries. The project was supported by the International Programme for the Development of Communications (IPDC) of UNESCO. A seminar was organised in Bangkok on 14 and 15 December 2015 which brought together scholars and media practitioners from Asia to discuss curricuum development. Following that curricuum was completed fortraining Asian journalists in "human-centric" journalism. A training-the-trainer workshop was held in Bangkok in July 2016. Mindful way to ASEAN journalism
As a follow up to the project, Dr Kalinga edited a publication 'Mindful Communication for Sustainable Development: Perspectives from Asia' published by SAGE in March 2018. Please see the following link for more information on the book.
